Comcast told me something like a fax filter, but could not tell me what the part is actually called, ie a DSL phone filter, I know what that is, or you need a widget 123, just you need some sort of a filter to filer out that your fax machine from 2004 can detect it’s signal comes in digital, sdwitces to analog at the modem and now will not receive faxes, comcast, sdaid my issues, buy new hardware, glad they were helpfull, anyone know what gizmo part I need to buy or what it’s exactly called? Or did I just get more smoke blown up me tush?

I have att u-verse phone line to the in of HP officejet pro 8500 and answering machine hooked to the out .I have talked to HP several times I share one phone line ..the latest HP told me I need a digital to analog converter…these run over $100 I have followed all the HP directions and set up I know the phone fax set up are correct. HP has said they have trouble with digital answering machines systems sharing the same phone line, but they don’t have a solution. I can send faxes receive faxes if I am there to push the fax button. When left unattended the fax can’t distinguish the fax tone are any of these services for additional one time fees for secondary lines any good for an additional line … I know I am not the only one with this problem any one out there know a real solution?
