I have a Sony DSC-W180. I found that quite regularly, when I went to use it, it would be flat. My previous experience with the same model (which got stolen) suggested that standby life is long enough to be irrelevant. Probably months. I took it to the shop, they took it in and an engineer phoned me to say the camera was fine, and it had taken 100 photos. I pleaded with the man, but to no avail. I picked it up, installed the battery, took about 35 photos (mostly without flash). I then left it for 2.5 days and it was completely dead. I've recently looked on-line and found that the battery is meant to take 290 photos. So I'm already irked with the clown engineer who tried to fob me off, but was wondering if anyone else had user experiences of standby battery life?
