Wonderful phone that works great and have had no problems. Good quality sound and ease of use.

1 Star Do not buy this phone!
I bought this phone a year ago (Jan 08) and it recently died on me. It kept giving me the “low battery” indicator, even if I only talked for 5 minutes. I would replace the battery, but just decided the chuck the whole phone since a phone battery costs $15.00 (half the price of the phone). I’ve own three cordless phones in the last twelve years, and this is by far the worst.

1 Star Piece of Junk
I have had a few cordless phones. This one wore out the fastest. The battery when the phone is off the hook died the fastest. And it is the biggest piece of junk of the cordless phone I’ve had. I have to go out and replace mine now.

5 Stars No problems, works great for us!
We’ve had this system for over 6 months and we’ve been very happy with it. The phone and answering machine are very easy to use and work great.

What I love about it:

- You can turn off the ringer on the phone.

- You can raise the volume on the phone so you can hear better. Sometimes I want it REALLY loud and this phone does it.

- You can listen and delete your messages from the phone.

- You can put the numbers that you frequently call in memory on the phone.

- The battery lasts a long time (I’ve had the phone off the base and in use for hours and haven’t had it die on me yet).

- The date and time are easy to set (and reset). This was a problem with our old phone because whenever we lost power, I’d have to get the manual out to figure out how to reset the date and time. It’s so easy on this one! It saves me so much aggravation.

- The caller ID is easy to read.

- The answering machine is easy to turn off.

- The price!!

I would purchase this again.

This phone is really a waste for the money, the battery doesn’t last for the time expected (nor half of it), the call quality is very poor, when u just go to the next room their is so much noise, end of line try another one.

this phone is cool but it really lacks range. i would have thought i could go further before losing calls..nope. Each phone has a individual phone book which could be cool in certain situations but is a real pain because every phone in my house has different numbers. it is a pain to sync each phone with the household phone book. if i grab the wrong phone it may not have the number i need in it. the answering unit is only ok it does not have very user friendly controls for saving or reviewing messages after a period of time.

4 Stars Great choice for a small office
Great choice for a small office:

- Support for 2 lines is a significant plus, especially given very moderate pricing

- Tiny footprint for the “base”

- The base has the same, fully usable cordless handset (vs. a separate useless corded base in earlier models)

- Speakerphone on each handset very helpful when dealing with extended waiting time on the line…

- Good sound quality

- Processes the FLASH button correctly for Vonage lines (call wait feature & three-way calls)

(We do not use auto-answering mode, because we are using Vonage – works great with the Vonage box, supporting both lines.)

Cons:

- The only ones discovered so far are minor: the base has an LCD display, BUT this display shows neither the current time (when inactive), nor the call time (when speaking). So it was added for no obvious purpose…

1 Star Not Reliable
The phone is OK but I have 5 handsets and 3 have failed over 1 1/2 years – terrible reliability. And todate Panasonic has not been very helpful.

1 Star Save your money!!
After about 1 year the buttons on the base, which only get used for checking messages at my house, started to fail. Problem probably occurred even prior to the 1 year mark, but I didn’t notice until it affected the message playback button. Once I discovered the issue, I attempted to power reset the base at which point the entire unit “locked up” and could no longer be used. Panasonic’s solution was send it in for repair, be without my phone for however long that takes, and all at my cost since I was outside the warranty period.

Please, save your money!!! Don’t get stuck with a $200+ phone (I purchased additional handsets) that you can’t even use. I loved the phone while it was working, but it’s only a matter of time until it fails.

2 Stars cordless memoryless
I find this phone system OK with a few flaws: if the power blinks you loose the the time memory of your missed calls, The phone book does not have enough memory and the caller ID will not remember your numbers and associate with your phone book, Then there are the missed call display, any call answered by another handset comes up missed call!

The sound quality and range is good as well as battery life. Not for a business.

This was a replacement for an exact model phone that just died. It works great and I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this phone to anyone who appreciates the Panasonic name.

I already had this phone system, so I basically just added another handset. No problems hooking it up and connecting it when I got it. Very easy.

We bought this Panasonic cordless phone with an extra base a few years ago & we love it!!! We needed 2 more base units since we got a bigger home & immediately purchased them. It has a great range, which other phones lack. The clarity is good-excellent. The only reason I gave this item a 4 is because if the phone base is too close to a lamp light, you will get a buzzing noise, but if you move it to a different location or turn off the light, it will go away. It has an excellent feature which downloads other ring tones & you can transfer the “phone book” names/numbers to all the other base units. Other great features are the light up screen & easy to use command buttons. The price is good for the quality phone you get. It’s very reliable. The charge on the phone is a couple of days, which is nice & it charges quickly. You can’t go wrong with this one. I highly recommend it.

1 Star Wanted the Phone UNIT itself==Got the Companion
I was shopping for the PHONE unit….and I got the Unit that is Used as a Secondary Unit in other Parts of the Home. This Unit DOES NOT have a Place on it ANYWHERE to Plug in a Phone Jack….It is a nice looking phone and All…but If you want a PHONE and Not a Secondary Unit…this is NOT the Phone ITSELF. There is nowhere on this Piece of Equipment to plug in a Phone Line.

Handset arrived from ANTOnline with dead battery, AT&T replaced the battery. Phone does not maintain connection to base which is downstairs(1st floor)approximately 30′ away.

4 Stars Great phone for the price
I purchased this phone to replace a similar, but much older model. I purchased the base, and 3 extra handsets. I received the merchandise well packaged, and very quickly. The product description is accurate, and I would agree with another review that mentioned the buttons make it difficult to not disconnect a call when pressed against the cheek while talking. It’s not a huge problem, but something to think about. I purchased an inexpensive headset to resolve this problem, which means if I’m washing dishes or using my hands for something else while I’m on the phone I do not have the problem with accidentally hanging up. The handsets synchronized easily, and the reception and volume are great. All in all this is an excellent product for the price.

4 Stars AT&T E597 Expansion Handset
These are getting harder to find. Although there are newer and fancier phones out there, my existing base system was working perfectly, so adding a fourth handset was my best solution. It works great, and was no trouble to merge with the othr three phones and play nice in the pool! The value for this handset is very good, and the seller was very quich to deliver!

what outlets do you use to charge your portables? I tried the cigarette adapter port with a 12v power inverter, and the inverter keeps going to low battery fail protection.. So I'm not sure how to proceed trying to charge my camcorder, digital camera, and my cell phone.
