Sony MDR A35G S2 Sports Headphones with Sweat Guard Mechanism

These Sony headphones are super-lightweight, comfortable and safe. They have been designed with Sony’s Sports Walkman series in mind. The MDR-A35G stereo headphones have a thin, lightweight and adjustable headband which allow you to fit them perfectly to your head’s shape. The headphones are foldable (via three hinges) which allow for greater transportability; you can pack these away in your workout bag or in a jeans pocket. The moisture guard mechanism pulls sweat away from the ear canal, keeping your headphones drier and thus, better fitting and sounding. If you plan on listening to your MP3 player or radio while treadmilling in the gym, this feature will be greatly appreciated. The headphones are also water resistant; runners in wet environs will certainly find this advantageous.

The open-air design removes undesirable resonance by allowing outside air to pass through the headphones; the result is a better sounding headphone. The open-air design is also a key factor in keeping you safe while you exercise. The headphones allow outside noises like horns, passing bikers and oncoming dogs to meet your ears, even with music playing. With sixteen millimeter drivers, although miniscule, you can expect to hear a good bass sound. Neodymium magnets, a rare feature on such economically priced headphones, provide maximum energy with minimal size. Meanwhile, the Sony Acoustic Turbo circuit is included for high efficiency; it gets high sonic output from your portable stereo, and extends bass response.

The MDR-A35G’s oxygen-free copper (OFC) Y-style cord is double-sided and is 3.9 feet long, allowing for ample movement and separation from the sound source. The gold-plated, L-shaped stereo mini-plug fits mini-plug jacks, not the full-size stereo jacks. The headphones are a flat black color.

4 Stars Pretty Good Work Out Earphones
I work out regularly and need to listen to music while I do. Earbuds don’t get it, too much adjusting.

I’ve gone through a bunch of these earphones, and they are the BEST for active workouts, except for the flimsy temple pieces: they ultimately break, no matter how careful I am, sometimes in the first couple of weeks, sometimes they’ve lasted 9 months.

So, I got the Sony MDR-W24V Vertical In-The-Ear Headphones the same time I bought these, and they seem to be holding up a little better. The MDR-W42V’s have an inline volume control, too. Get those instead.

4 Stars Stays put while running
I bought these earphones specifically to run with. I love them. These are the first earphones I have found that stay put while I run. The sound quality is not great but good enough. I would buy these again.

5 Stars Best headphone for hard workouts
I’ve used many types of headphones for workouts (endurance runs which tend to be long and sweaty) most eventually stop working temporarily somewhere during the run when the headphone speaker gets wet. The design on these pretty much keeps this from happening. As far as sound quality…I’m not an audiophile but they sound good to me, and they are very comfortable.

2 Stars Very fragile headphones
I bought three pairs of these and they all have broken within one month. They snap right near the folding joint with the slightest overstress. The sound is good, but I’m very disappointed with the durability. I had an old Sony metal band folding sport headphone that lasted for many years that I wish they still sold. If you buy these, make sure to get some plastic glue and a pin punch so you can take them apart and repair them. You’ll need it.

4 Stars I like ‘em.
I keep a pair in my car and another in my gym bag. I like the compactness – I carry them in an old case for my glasses. The sound is fine and you can wear them while sweating like a pig and they still manage not to feel disgusting. They are my friend.

4 Stars Does exactly what I want
These headphones are just what I need. iPod-style headphones fall out while running, which is why I need the over-the-head style. Also, they keep the sweat out of your ears, the sound quality is pretty decent (better than the standard iPod headphones). On the downside, they are fragile. A set lasts me about 4 months (more with duct tape!), but I don’t mind paying $15 or so for a new set. I just bought two sets to get the free shipping, and I’m trying to be more careful with them (don’t bend them outward!). I’ll probably keep buying them so long as I’m an active runner and so long as they break, and while they still sell them! For the money, you can’t get better headphones.

4 Stars Stays put while running

5 Stars Awesomesound
The diaphragm is 16mm.The sound and Bass are very very nice…you will hear things that you dont normally hear with this headphone. And it doesnt fall out of your ear…I love it.

1 Star Save your money
I’ve been running with headphones for more than 20 years. Sony used to make great sport headphones but not anymore. These are a total waste of money. First, the cord is way too long so I have to wrap it around my wrist. Second, the headband isn’t adjustable and since it’s made for a bigger head than mine it doesn’t stay put. Third, the earpiece is too big and doesn’t stay in my ears. Sony made a great little sport headphone years ago. I don’t know why they didn’t just stick with it.

5 Stars Excellent for running or working out at the gym!!!!!
I am confused by the negatives for these. I have had these for over a year-they are outstanding. When I run or work-out I SWEAT, a LOT! I also wear these with my Ipod while mowing and working in the lawn (again, sweating in the hot summers). They stay on my head, are durable, reliable and sweating does not lower the great sound of these. I have expensive headphones (including the Bose Noise-Cancelling ones) and expensive Sony earbuds. Now, the sound on these is NOT as good as those but still very good considering the price. For the price-you get MORE than your money’s worth. Highly recommend for the sports-minded person.

1 Star Will not last a month.
Dido what another reviewer said. I am a runner and have used these earphones for years. I had one pair that lasted about three years. Eventually I would ruin them with my rough handling but they fit well and had fair quality sound. When the pair I had for three years broke I could not find them in the store. I did find them on Amazon so I bought 3 pairs of them in case Sony was going to quit making them. None of the three pair lasted a month. they all broke at the hindge. Obviously Sony has out sourced these to some hack company that can’t build quality products. I will now be suspicious of all Sony products.

There is nothing to say other than the title. These are the best, reasonably priced exercise headphones I have ever owned.

Sony MDR J10 h ear Headphones with Non Slip Design Black

Sony MDR J10 h ear Headphones with Non Slip Design Black

Lightweight and secure enough for vigorous active use, the MDR-J10 headphones–part of Sony’s h.ear line–feature a comfortable, vertical, in-ear form, a clip-on fit that follows the contour of your ears, and a stable, non-slip design built to withstand exercising, skating, dancing, or other sports. The MDR-J10 earcups use an open-air design that lets you hear ambient sound. This ability to hear outside noises is a safety issues as much as a quality of sound issue. Neodymium magnets give the headphones maximum energy at a minimal size and weight. The MDR-J10’s clip-on design is hair-friendly and keeps the size of the headphones small. Their tangle-free storage cord is adjustable, making for easy storage in a backpack, briefcase or purse. The headphones come with a 3.5-foot cord, and their L-shaped plug is tailor-made for active use and won’t bend and break like an upright plug might.

4 Stars Grammy loves these headphones!
I’m a grandmother, 64, and just bought my 1st ipod which I had, frankly resisted [my CDs were just fine, thank you] – I love the ipod! I did NOT love earbuds [I tried several different kinds] – they kept falling out of my ears. Yes, I know they look cool and YOUNG, but I lean more to comfort now. These headphones are comfortable [and I occasionally wear glasses!] with good sound, inexpensive – I would definitely recommend.

2 Stars You get what you pay for, unfortunately
I’ve seen others on this site who’ve experienced the same ‘failing after 3 months’ diagnosis as I have. At first I wondered if I was treating them roughly (I bike with them and sometimes stuff them away in a spare pocket) but it seems that they’re simply cheaply made. They might be a worthy investment if you decide to splurge on a case to protect them, but otherwise I would say upgrade to a more pricey alternative.

5 Stars Great sound – great price
I use these headphones with my LG Muziq cellphone. The sound is very nice. Good enough for me. They stay in my ears compared with some of the plug in the ear types. I usually wear these while I am washing the car or doing yard work so I need something that stays put.

I am very happy with the sound of these. Great Price too.

3 Stars Nice while it worked
These headphones worked fine for 12 months before the left side stopped working. The earhook design was comfortable and felt secure. I used them whenever I exercised, and they always stayed in place. The sound quality was decent, and they were able to cancel out some of the surrounding noise. It’s a good buy if you’re looking for something inexpensive and temporary.

5 Stars GREAT BUDGET PRODUCT DONT EXPECT GREAT BASE
CANT BEAT THE PRICE OR PERFORMANCE, STAYS IN THE EAR AND NEVER FALLS OUT. HOWEVER AFTER INTENSE RUNNING OR SWEATING THE DO NOT FIT SNUG AND YOU LOOSE BASS, OTHERWISE SOUND AND PERFORMANCE IS GREAT

5 Stars Headphones
The headphones work great, they have a lot of bass compared to many other earbuds.

4 Stars Good quality for the price
Earbuds do not block outside sound at all, but I suppose that’s not something one should expect from this style. Quality otherwise is fine; good bass notes and decently crisp trebles. Not the same as a high-end model, but since I seem to break my earbuds on a regular basis, these are an affordable second-best.

4 Stars Very Good
This product quality is very good and it is convenient with winding case. I very like it.

2 Stars Sound good, don’t fit
I ordered these with my sony fm radio because so many said the sounded great. If I hold them in my ears, they do sound great. But, they don’t stay in my ears and were such a hassle I threw them away. Maybe it’s my ears, but I tried several different ways, to no avail.

3 Stars Not too bad
This is a good ear phone for its price. But at times only 1 ear piece works (the left channel) but then it goes back to normal. I still havent figured what the reason is. If it persists I’ll ask for a return Overall not a bad product
